More About Our Executive Director

Rob L. Shilts has served as the Executive Director of Franklin Heritage, Inc. since 1998 and is the only person to have served in his position. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Rob received his Bachelor's degree in architecture in 1987. He worked at Miller Dunwiddie Architecture in Minneapolis before moving to Franklin.

In 1997, he was recruited to join Franklin Heritage as a volunteer board member and was then named president of the organization. He was named part-time executive director in 1998, serving as Franklin Heritage's first and only employee. Rob worked out of his home until Franklin Heritage acquired its first office in February 1999.

Rob became the full-time executive director in 2000. Franklin Heritage has since expanded to include two additional full-time employees.

Also in 2000, Rob graduated from the Leadership Johnson County Program. He is a Rotarian, having served as president of the organization in 2001. Rob is involved with Discover Downtown Franklin and is chairman of its design committee.
