History

Franklin Heritage, Inc. was established in 1983 by a small group of concerned citizens who felt it was important to preserve the historical heritage of the City of Franklin, especially its tree-lined boulevards, brick streets, and historical architecture. From this small but dedicated group of people, Franklin Heritage, a preservation-based, non-profit organization was born.

Franklin Heritage, Inc. is a non-profit service and community development corporation.

• We strengthen our community by purchasing, stabalizing, and reselling historic properties.
• We provide homebuyer education and rehabilitate affordable historic houses.
• We assist owners of historic homes with restoration resources.
• We promote reinvestment in historic neighborhoods and work to maintain the vitality of our historic downtown.

• Franklin Heritage, Inc. is devoted to improving the quality of life of Franklin, Indiana by preserving our community. We strengthen neighborhoods, build friendships, and work in partnership with other community organizations to build a good community filled with good neighbors.
