About This House

This 1890's Queen Anne style house was very much like a time capsule when Franklin Heritage took possession of it. It was donated by a local family who wanted the house to be preserved. The house had been abandoned for nearly twenty-seven years. The calendars were still on the walls and dishes were still in the sink.

What we found was a snapshot in time. Most intriguing was the fact that the house was originally built with two full bathrooms, something almost unheard of at that time. Those original fixtures are still in place today. The kitchen is also original, as are the cabinets and sink. Usually kitchens and bathrooms are some of the first rooms to be renovated.

The house also features three sets of french doors, a built-in china cabinet and a glazed tile fireplace with a quartersawn oak mantle. The original woodwork has not been painted and there are hardwood floors throughout.
